Pros
Fellow Corps Members are all overall wonderful and supportive as they are all experiencing the same things as you. Institution (Summer Orientation) is nice, but a LOT of work. Fun activities and great benefits/compensation. The work they are trying to do is admirable and almost everyone involved seems to be involved for the right reasons.
Cons
Lack of support from many of the staff -- mostly due to the fact that Corps Members are often put into situations that are too stressful for veteran teachers let alone first-year post-college graduates with no teaching experience (which most Corps Members are). There is a lot of pressure on you to succeed and yet the training is insufficient for you to be prepared as a full-time teacher in places most teachers won't want to work. It is highly stressful and nearly every Corps Member I know in Teach For America cries every night for the first few months of actual teaching, and many even beyond those months.
