Pros
Shifts were flexible at most times
Cons
- constantly hounding customers to reach ‘sale targets’ which result in customers becoming frustrated. If targets were not met, which is completely out of our control, we would revive punishment. - having to keep a ‘close eye’ on ANY teenagers, groups, travellers, etc. this would include someone close to the customer at every chance, which is obvious to the customer, and they become understandably frustrated. - we would have to work non stop, without stopping unless for our very short break. - we would get minimum pay and minimum breaks, whilst we were working WAY above our pay grade (pushing sales/cards/monitoring people, ontop of regular duties.) - management would abuse their power, constantly on their phone (not for training or group chat purposes.) Giving the undermining jobs to team members whilst leaving the “easier” jobs to their selves. - the benefits, working for the company, are absolutely minimal, especially the discount at 10% for mainstream products. - Rotas will constantly change with very little (sometimes no) communication. This would result in people coming in to work when their shift had been changed without being told. - rotas and hours are completely unpredictable and unreliable. - (not specifically Superdrug’s responsibility-) management wouldn’t hire a ‘variety’ of staff members, resulting in all staff talking about eachother and constantly gossiping via the headset. There are many reasons why I left the company, but ultimately I would suggest to stay clear, especially when applying to work there.
