Cons
During my time at Spartan, I was offered promotions twice, only to have them rescinded both times. The company often struggles to pay its contractors, with many going up to six months without compensation. The organizational structure is confusing, creating many gray areas that are difficult to navigate. Additionally, the CEO is not the most professional; for example, he once referred to those who identify as they/them as "weird" and suggested they should adhere to specific pronouns. I frequently found it challenging to understand my role, as it seemed like the strategy changed daily, often requiring me to take on tasks outside my job description, like obtaining EMT certifications instead of focusing on my actual responsibilities. Moreover, it felt like every year brought new layoffs, making it seem like I was part of an ongoing "open season" for job insecurity.
