Pros

You get to work in a world of color, fragrance, skincare, and haircare and play with the latest and greatest products all day. The products sell themselves. You get paid well for a retail position and you are given gratis- products from brands to try so that you know how they work in order to recommend them to clients.

Cons

Sephora likes to develop their talents. Don't expect to move up the ladder quickly. You must be proactive, take initiative, work hard, and speak up for yourself in order to get where you want to be within the company (which is more like a helpful hint than a "con" in my opinion).

Pros

fun getting gratis and hosting in-store events, meeting brand ambassadors/managers, socializing with clients

Cons

manager created a weird environment -- coaching moments were sometimes extremely aggressive for a retail environment; strict on not applying makeup to clients unless they purchase a service. once made me move from a disabled client quickly because I was "spending too much time with them" and to further boost the store sales. felt extremely unethical.
