Poor experience in the people team - HRBP River Island Employee Review

I worked here for a year and like many colleagues, I left with no job to go to. The CPO created a toxic, suffocating environment within the team. Long working hours and unreasonable expectations considering the vast number of leavers who were not replaced, after being driven out. Listening groups held but you need to take the time to actually listen to your audience and implement change otherwise what's the point? This should not be about personal PR or ego. Reward was extremely poor, with lots of talk about what could be done, not put into action. Inconsistent approach to remuneration across all business areas. There is no money for investment in people, development or technology, so no opportunities for progression. This is a sinking ship. Horrible environment and I could not recommend this as a career move.
