Cons
As a ladies product manager I had absolutely no support from the deputy and store manager. Expected to work every hour under the sun, and never allowed to take my time back. When I left the company I was owed 55 hours. Expected to do too much with very little reward. I would never speak to another person the way my area manager spoke to me. It is not acceptable to be so rude to the people that work so hard for the store. The store was constantly under staffed so my role as 'product manager' consisted of spending a lot of time on the front of the store putting the rejects from the fitting room out. Staff are made to feel extremely under appreciated. I would like to say it's just my store but as a product manager you get to work in different stores and the atmosphere was the same. Not enough emphasis is put on customer service. The staff are given too many tasks to focus on great service. This is still evident today as River Island are notorious for their bad customer service.
