Business Outlook
Pros
- some in-office-phlebotomist (IOP) positions are very slow which grants you time to respond to emails, study, or manage other sedentary tasks
Cons
- low pay and did not budge at all when I requested higher pay to reflect my previous work experience/previous pay - very poor communication between management and IOPs. I feel like I'm an employee of the clinic where I work (which is great! the clinic staff are amazing), but I do not feel like I'm an employee of Quest Diagnostics, nor do I particularly care about the company - working for a company that hires so many phlebs will make it easier to find work, but it almost certainly pays less and is a less cohesive environment than direct employment by the clinic or hospital itself.
