Pros
1.Vacation leaves are usually approved but depends on your supervisor. 2.The culture is casual. (You can wear t-shirt because they are lab gowns to don with). People are friendly and down to earth. There's a lot of young people too so you become young in heart as well. 3.If you are a CLS, you usually have an Lab associate to assists you and get the job done. They can be very useful in pulling samples and procuring priority samples. 4.Balance Life. Your work schedules can be adjusted to fit your life. This depends on your supervisors though. If you cannot work on your usual scheduled days because of your child or family needs, you can request to work some other day and they usually approve it.
Cons
1.Low Salary. An entry level CLS is paid $33 per hour while on other companies they start at $38 per hour. Experienced CLSs are even paid $45 per hour on hospitals for entry level. 2.Bad benefits. Medical insurance is $1500 deductible for single and $3000 deductible for family. (Meaning you have to pay the deductible before the insurance kicks in). They got a cheap medical insurance for employees. They give you Payflex though, but is not enough to cover your deductibles. 3.Bad management. It's all about politics (Everywhere else is but I'm just letting people know what I experience here). Promotions are subjective to management. Some people worked hard for 15 years then gets promoted,while others worked only two years then gets the promotion. It depends on the management and their business needs. At times, incompetent inexperience workers gets promoted over hard working intelligent people. 4.Work environment is a Factory Setting. You get thousands of samples to run everyday and every day is the same.
