      Career progression, social aspect, strong support systems in place both work based but also wellbeing/outside of work

      Can become heavily invested in work, negating the work/life balance aspect of the job, hard to switch off

      Pros

      The only “good” thing is the small percentage of new equipment and that some gyms are 24 hours.

      Cons

      Management is unfair, cutting hours and expecting a single worker to handle the entire gym. Incredible staff are undervalued, while third-party cleaners and side services pretend to solve problems they don’t. Members are chaotic, shifts are impossible, and yet leadership refuses to hire properly. Think smarter, not cheaper.
