Pros

Selecting a place to work can be tricky because you will be spending a lot of time in the place, but you don't know the full breadth of the business until you get there. Still early days at PureGym, but so far I've enjoyed the work I do. They've created an environment that stimulates and challenges me, which was very important for me when deciding about my next role. Ultimately, with any organisation, the needs of the business come first, and there's likely to be "politics" but if you demonstrate the value of your needs, I'm sure you'll receive support.

Cons

It is still early days, so I guess all I will say is remuneration to stay competitive. In their defence, pay in the UK is really rubbish plus inflation, but they could be the leaders of change. Contacting people while they are on holiday for things that aren't urgent. Lack of direct communication at times.

Pros

The only “good” thing is the small percentage of new equipment and that some gyms are 24 hours.

Cons

Management is unfair, cutting hours and expecting a single worker to handle the entire gym. Incredible staff are undervalued, while third-party cleaners and side services pretend to solve problems they don’t. Members are chaotic, shifts are impossible, and yet leadership refuses to hire properly. Think smarter, not cheaper.

We can see that you may be working with us currently, so would suggest that you reach out to either your Regional Manager or your HR Business Partner who will do their best to support.
