Pros
Since it is a state-owned Brazilian corporation, the employees enter through public national exam / competition. The compensation and benefits are high for the national standards, besides considerable job stability, so it attracts very talented professionals who studied at the best universities in Brazil. You work with great professionals. Great challenges. The Company has great values.
Cons
Very hierarchical Company. Incredibly high rate of Toxic Managers. Some of them are clearly psychopaths and take decisions that are not good for the team nor for the Company, taking pleasure in making subordinates weaker. Since the managers expect that the employee, after a difficult national exam and having stability, will bear any type of behavior from them, some of them can be very toxic, and of course they want to make sure to keep themselves on top. Since people tend to retire in the Company, many employees are afraid of raising issues and be labeled forever by managers as a 'bad' employee. More recently many great talents are not standing for these and are leaving the Company, specially with an internal program to reduce the number of employees with bonus payment.
