In terms of employee satisfaction and engagement, this is the least healthy organization I have ever worked for. It is shocking how many of my colleagues, after leaving the company, use the word "traumatic" when reflecting upon their time there. In over a decade with the company, I can say that I was happy for only the first two years. Somewhat ironically, it was around the time of the company's rebranding as "one Nielsen" and "simple, open, integrated" that morale seemed to go into a freefall, at least in our business unit, and it never recovered. Employee recognition is purely lip service - company practice seems to be "if you're not seeing results, change personnel, not strategy", which creates a hostile environment. Focus shifted entirely too far into counting pennies, to the point of devaluing our products. Leaving there, it felt like an enormous weight was lifted off of my shoulders.
