Pros
The people that I talked and worked with daily were amazing. There really was a friendship built by working with brokers. I liked them, and I assume they liked me. As long as I would continuously do good work, they would consistently come back to me for requests. It seems like if you want to be a broker the path was set and they would hold your hand along they way. You could come up from research and become a broker if you had the drive/gumption to do it
Cons
If you make a single mistake, or make the knock off andy bernard boss mad, he will hold a grudge and try to quiet fire you despite calls from others. If you want to do something like valuation & advisory, AKA anything other than being a broker, they will push you out. Don't expect respect from this post. Look at the quarterly reports, ever since new management took effect, they cannot keep a senior researcher for more than 6 months. Working for the brokers isn't the issue, management is.
