Pros
Some of the managers are flexible and understanding when it comes to work-life balance and family emergencies. Some of the staff truly are great people and become close like family. Best part of working here is knowing you are helping people with disabilities have a better more meaningful life. I love coming to work and seeing the consumers so happy and eager to be here. Some of the employees truly care about the consumers and dedicate their time to ensure the consumers have the best they can have and feel normal.
Cons
Tons of turnover. Employees do not last long. There is absolutely no room for growth or opportunities to earn more income, everything Financial is dependent on the State of Illinois. Bonuses and raises are rare and only senior management reap the benefits. Senior staff and management do not like newcomers and do not like fresh new ideas, especially if those ideas didn’t come from them. Management involve themselves in too much office gossip and sabotaging other employees’ chances of moving up in the organization, it feels like high school all over again, feels like a popularity contest. Senior management have their favorites within the organization and those are the ones moving up. Too much change in regards to senior management and Human Resources. Human Resources needs a leader with experience, knowledge and most importantly being able to relate to staff and be personable and approachable.
