If you have an interest in safety or advocacy this is a great place with lots of people who are committed to safety. Also the hours are flexible.
Cons
One of the most toxic places I've ever worked! Word of advice...the positive reviews are from HR, those with little work experience or people who haven't been with NSC for very long. Staff are leaving in droves from this place and they can't fill positions fast enough. Thank goodness the economy has improved enough so we can attempt to move on to a decent workplace! The new CEO has spent thousands hiring consultants to improve the culture but it's a complete waste of money because the same crazy people are in leadership positions making bad decisions. The recent realignment only added to the misery and the unhappiness is palpable the moment you walk through the doors. She's clueless and has no idea how to fix it in spite of the numerous staff surveys noting that most of us hate our jobs and would never recommend this place to friends of colleagues. She's now surrounded herself with recent hires from her old workplace at NTSB...that's really gonna help the situation.
