Pros
Miele is a big, family-owned company with a rich history, building the highest quality of products (the Apple of appliances). They are an ever-growing company with a strong image in Germany and internationally. They take care of their employees and many stay long-term or even retire there. The salary is decent and they have a good retirement programme. The work-life balance is great. The working week is 35h, which makes it 7 hours a day, instead of 8 hours (that really makes a big difference once you try it). You have 30 days of vacation and it is extremely flexible when taking them, always when one is from the IT sector, as I have no information from the other sectors. There also 4 extra days per year that one can take off when feeling sick, without the doctor's prescription (of course you can't take them all at once, but only one at a time when feeling sick). During and after COVID, one can most of the time work from home. Surely, some work a hybrid week (3 days home + 2 days office), but if you have a position that does not require to be on the office, you can expect to work almost all the time from home.
Cons
This is not a big con, but the only one that came to mind. As I mentioned, the salary is decent but they have a re-evaluation cycle of 3 years where your development is evaluated and probably some salary increase is discussed. The IT sector is quite fast-paced and you have companies hunting for your services all the time, so I believe the cycle should be at most 2 years. Nevertheless, you have a yearly talk with your boss and you can discuss everything there, including your renewed salary expectations.
