Pros

The people and culture for sure! Love that culture here means a lot more than happy hours, lunches, snax, coffee (though we have all that & a beer club to boot), it has several measurable pillars that are woven into the interview process and reviews once you are on board. Weekly Leadership Q&A's are well attended and field honest, direct and transparent discussion. The mission and vision for Medallia make it very rewarding to be a part of...still feels like a scrappy start up building up to take off. Get aboard the rocket ship! Oh and did I mention the week long onboarding they invest in each employee? Without giving too much away, be prepared for a very personal and deep experience unlike any other onboarding you have (or will have) experienced.

Cons

Perks, though when you think of it what is more important free food everyday or being a part of a strong culture

Thanks for the feedback, the GREAT description of our culture, and keeping the secret of onboarding. You are right about perks -- we will never out-perk Google. It's funny, though. In the 1000s of interviews I've done over the years, I often ask people where they liked working the most and why. In all those years, I have never had anyone say the reason they liked a job was the perks. What people consistently value is great relationships with colleagues, a sense of purpose in what they're doing, and the feeling of having real impact -- all things we strive for at Medallia. When perks come up, it's often associated -- counterintuitively -- with where people like working least. Why? Because sometimes people stay in places they don't like because the perks are too good. Bottom line: I couldn't agree with you more -- our perks are less than those offered by the giants in the Valley and that maybe that's not such a bad thing in the end. Thanks for your suggestion of increasing corporate communications. If you have specific ideas, could you please share them with the marketing department? They are working on an internal communications plan and would welcome your feedback. Thanks again! -Amy

Pros

Flexible time off, inclusive culture, autonomy in role, great pay and benefits

Cons

Not a lot of opportunity for growth on a small consulting team. Time sheet process was atrocious but perhaps it’s improved since I left.
