In terms of work/life balance, my experience with most Medallians is that they are passionate about what they do and WANT to work hard – but they also want to control, to the degree that it’s possible in their roles, when to work and when to take a break. We do not want people getting subjected to a constant barrage of after-hours urgent requests because of poor management. However, we cannot help you in this particular situation unless you share details with us. Please reach out.
P.S. I agree that “bias for action” should never be an excuse to push people too hard.
