Many of the leadership roles are held by long time employees who have stale, unrealistic values and goals for todays modern workplace.
Departments being led by folks with no background in said business area.
No matter how much you do and how well you do it, it's never enough.
Be prepared to be hired to do a specific job only to have the scope completely and drastically changed without any change to your title or pay.
First day on the job welcomed me with a filthy work space complete with previous occupants belongings such as cough drops and sticky pennies in the desk drawers. Dead bugs and dust on the desk top.
