Pros

None whatsoever, avoid this place like the plague

Cons

Unless you're down on your luck and completely out of opportunities, do not work here. I was hired as an Operations Associate and the recruiter who tried to bring me on (Don Taylor) straight up lied to me to bring me in for an interview. I asked for a base salary of $50,000. I went to college and even have supply chain certifications. He agreed and said "we most definitely can pay you that" and wanted to bring me in for an interview. The interview went EXTREMELY well and I was offered the position the following business day. I completed my drug screen and background check and was sent an offer letter for $19 an hour (which totals somewhere around $38,000 a year). After telling Don I wanted to renegotiate my starting salary to match THE BARE MINUMUM of my requirements, Don started stuttering and made excuse after excuse as to why they couldn't move from $19 an hour and why they thought it'd be a good fit for me to still come to Marken. Do yourself a favor, and avoid this place like this plague. Everyone seemed relatively nice during the interview process, but a job that's unwilling to compensate you for experience and accomplishments, even after agreeing to do so before and during and the interview process, RUN. The health benefits are trash, OT is essentially mandatory to make a substantial living for you and your family, and you will be guaranteed to be worked like a dog during your tenure here. The only way I could see this being a good opportunity for someone is if they were single, broke as a joke and needed a job to make ends meet while they continued their job search. Other than that, do not even entertain Marken's debauchery. They will lie to you and do whatever's necessary to get you in the door.

Pros

There are no pros if I did not get hired

Cons

Pay advertised was not accurate * Lack of transparency in compensation * Wasted time and travel expenses I had a very frustrating experience with the hiring process. I attended the interview and was told my performance was “perfect,” which made it seem like I was a strong candidate. However, the role was advertised at a minimum of $30/hour, and later I was told the actual pay was closer to $20/hour. That’s a major discrepancy and feels very misleading. On top of that, I ultimately received a rejection despite the positive feedback. Between the misleading pay and the outcome, this process felt inconsistent and unprofessional. I also spent time and money on travel (gas) to attend the interview, which makes the experience even more frustrating. Overall, this felt like a waste of time and could have been avoided with clearer and more honest communication upfront.
