Pros
Hourly rate is the highest in the industry since it is unionized and tips are decent Flexible schedule, we get the schedule of events months in advance and sign up sheet out the 5th of every month for the next month - great for planning Nice short shifts are 4-5 hours - you make your $$ and you're out Staff discounts and Ontario reciprocal program is great Fun events - who wouldn't wanna work sporting events and concerts :)
Cons
Easy to get written up - very strict on cash shortages/overages Seniority based so if you are new, hard to get shifts and you will be required for shifts you don't sign up for if they are short-staffed. It took me several years to build my seniority and now I get the shifts I want and I don't get required for shifts (great for me but not so much for newer staff but everyone has to do their time - I did and it paid off) Some supervisors and managers are on a power kick and need to be nicer and more respectful to staff (most are cool though) Sometimes the rotation of stands is not fair and consistent - there is favoritism that happens and that is not cool
