Cons
Upper level management/execs are not sure what to do with this company. Lumen has been trying to change to become profitable for more years then I can remember and always revert back to layoffs to improve the bottom line, layoffs are 2+ times a year every year with lots of mini layoffs throughout, this creates a bad culture when everyone is worried constantly that they will be laid off. Also due to layoffs you find that most people you work with have multiple roles, it's like they are doing 2-3 full time jobs, this leads to everyone being overwhelmed. Lumen, a company grappling with its direction, has witnessed a recurring cycle of profitability struggles. Over the years, they’ve attempted various strategies to turn the tide, but layoffs have consistently been their go-to solution for bolstering the bottom line. These layoffs occur multiple times a year, creating an unsettling atmosphere where employees live in perpetual fear of losing their jobs. Consequently, the workforce shoulders multiple responsibilities, often juggling the equivalent of 2-3 full-time roles, leading to widespread overwhelm and strain. The situation at Lumen reflects a challenging balance between financial stability and employee well-being.
