      After 15 years, I didn't realize how bad it was until I moved on - Manager Lumen Employee Review

      Pros

      Such a large company gives a long term employee a chance to learn different job skills

      Cons

      Oppressive, very negative culture and workplace. Walking into the building, you can feel the stress and negativity. "Management" has a complete disregard for upward suggestions. Employees from different legacy companies (prior to mergers) are ostracized. Layoffs have been non-stop for years, likely contributing to the negative workplace. Decisions on who is chosen to to layoff seems random or at best case associated with being part of the "in crowd".

      Pros

      work life balance, excellent time off so long as manager doesn’t micromanage/track and limit FTO, nice people, leadership has turned the business around.

      Cons

      No pay raises even with great performance review (5years with zero raise) No career growth/progression - been on a high-performing team for 5 years and not one person on the team has been progressed or promoted during that time. Little opportunity for career advancement and growth New jobs within the company are going to external hires, not much grwoth for current employees
