Pros
Decent benefits and blankets bonus payouts. As a young kid right out of school this is a good place to develop a well rounded insurance background. But get out after a couple of years.
Cons
Terrible infrastructure and support services. Weak managers who have not been trained to lead and develop staff. Lots of knee jerk reaction and failure to execute on critical decisions. Leadership is clueless or in denial at how manual everything is from both an employee managing their career perspective as well as employees servicing client and or vendor relationships. I would sum up the culture as being as long as premiums keep rising and typically by default commissions, the company makes money and simply ignores the fact improvement is needed desperately across the organization: Leadership, technology and digital strategy, career pathing and management, internal services, etc.
