Pros
The company looked out for it's own. Compensation was well above normal and projects were interesting. Collaboration with the greater Finmeccanica group is possible and encouraged. The IT and adminstrative functions (like acct, HR, etc) were very efficient. I never had a major issue. And the small ones I did have were always handled effectively. One thing that had always impressed me, HR was never involved in the recruiting/interviewing process ( in my opinion, that is a good thing). HR gets involved to handle the admin of your job - benefits, medical, etc. But the people that get hired was decided by the people with whom you work. And finally, for me, my line manager was exeptional as was a PM I worked with reguarily. They listened and made things happen for my career development and the project. Likewise, they could be depended on to follow through with commitments They were always gentlemen.
Cons
Like many companies in this industry - budgets are being squeezed. Selex has difficulty closing deals and that means no work. A sense of vulnerability does permiate.
