Pros
Guaranteed position if you stay there and don't make waves.
Cons
Difficult to get through all the red tape, especially with the Italians. At one point I had to hand deliver 5,000 pages of a 'Progetto' to get it signed by the COO so I could start my £1.5M project. This was a project that we had a contract for with the customer. In the end it was almost impossible to deliver the project when the organisation got in the way at every stage.
