Pros
-Friendly and charismatic workers. THE reason how I managed to survive 2 years of pain. -Alright earning for a part-time position. Commissions on Smart-Plans and Sears Credit Card can boost the pay up just a smidge. Just enough money to fill the wallet for 2 weeks. -Flexible scheduling. A bonus for people that are in school that need pocket change. -Employee discount can be used at both Sears and K-Mart.
Cons
-Found myself needing many overrides. Expect to price-check frequently. There are times that no one is working at the department, so paging is not always reliable/fast. You may need to run back yourself and look. At least you'll get excercise. -Very hard on smart-plans, credit cards, rewards card, and donations. Getting rewards cards and donations come fairly easy though. You can get a warning and be terminated if you don't obtain enough, or show progress. -Corp controls temperature in store. Prepare to either sweat like crazy or freeze until you're blue. -Usually only 2 cashiers are on duty (exclude customer service desk). Backups are available, but not often. It's pretty understaffed at times... -Will be written up for clocking in a minute over your starting shift. Even if the clock says 10:00, it MAY record as 10:01. Be sure to punch in around 9:59. -Lack of feedback until the very last minute. Surprises aren't always fun to read at the end.
