Pros
- Lots of variety, I was given the chance to teach all ages and abilities including young children, teenagers completing their exams and adults who were beginners. - Given our own classrooms and materials - Staff were all very friendly and supportive - Learnt a lot - Opportunities to complete internal courses and attend weekly knowledge share seminars - Long summer holidays
Cons
- Often worked 'split shifts' taught early morning classes and late evening classes on the same day. This was very tiring and meant you couldn't really switch off. - Very few employee benefits and progression opportunities within the business - The range of different classes across ages and abilities meant a lot of time spent planning - Staff teaching resources could be much better - Unpaid summer holidays
