Pros
Helping boost the rating for Haleon for letting me keep an easy job the past few years. This is a safe haven for anyone in management position because you can easily lie through your way to open a new headcount. Then use that new headcount as a scapegoat. You can shift blame to the new hire any time you make a mistake. Managers have outsized power here because there's no upward feedback, so you can play favoritism without consequences. Huge plus for zero diversity in tech because it feels like we're all a family. The ICs can raise problems to HR, but I'll crush the complain because HR is also in the same ethnic group, so it's easy to discriminate anyone I dislike. The HR's job is to protect me. Strongly recommend for anyone wanting a management job in tech.
Cons
The only con is the pay. But thankful to have a management job right now in this economy - especially a management job with subpar leadership because they'll never be able to touch me. This is a relief from my prior company's culture where everyone is always pointing fingers. A lot of my management colleagues here are also enjoying this special perk of the job.
