Pros
There aren't many pros... - Most of the people I work with are friendly and cool (the ones over the age of 20, anyway). - Fast-paced. - No two days are ever the same - always changing.
Cons
- Employee discount sucks (only 10% and can't use on SALE items or if another discount is applied). - Store "exchange" policy sucks (no refunds, no returns, tags have to be attached, receipt is required). This made for interesting customer interactions, especially those who wanted their money back, didn't have their receipt, or took a tag off. - Stores aren't equipped for or even designed to house the amount of shipment they receive on a daily basis. Fitting room stalls are used to house shipment, boxes are stacked openly on the sales floor, the stock rooms are jam packed, making it difficult to get to the bathrooms. Not only is this an LP issue, it's a safety/fire hazard. - Communication between Operational Team and Visual Merchandising Team isn't great. It isn't even good. - "Go-backs" pile up on busy nights (racks on racks on racks) and you can't leave the store until they're done. The store closes at 9 but on holidays and summer nights, you don't get to leave until after midnight. - Employs mostly teens who have no sense of responsibility and treat their job like it's disposable - call offs and "no call no shows" are not uncommon. Turnover rate is RIDICULOUS! - Merchandise never stays in one spot long. Just when you think you know where it's at, it gets moved to another spot or another floor (per visual merchandising standards). This not only makes it difficult to do go-backs, it makes it difficult to locate things for our customers. Some consistency would be nice. - Corporate HQ uses programs and methods that are slow and outdated. It takes a month to get New Hires approved, over a month to solve customer disputes, over a month to give raises to people who've been promoted, etc. - Promoting from within is extremely rare, and if it does happen, the pay increase is plain sad. A $0.50 pay increase for tons of added responsibilities is UNACCEPTABLE..
