Pros

Fleet Feet is a franchise so every store will have different inventories, management styles, etc. Not everything written here will necessarily apply to each and every store. You learn a fantastic specialized fit process which is designed to give the customer the very best, customized guidance towards products that will work best for them individually. Because of this each fitting is unique which breaks up any dullness in routine. You are also helping people to change their lives in positive ways and acheive goals. This is one of the most satisfying aspects of the job. If you like helping individuals in your community make positive personal changes it is a great place to work. You will also became very knowledgable about all the products the store carries and will continue to consistently learn new things. You have the opportunity to become a coach for the New Balance No Boundaries program, which puts you in touch with the community you are helping educate and train. In my personal opinion, it was always very rewarding on a day-to-day basis and the pros outweigh the cons. If you don't need benefits or are a college student, this can be a very flexible and rewarding place to work if you are invested.

Cons

They kept us just below what would qualify us as full time employees. Due to this we didn't receive any benefits. There is very little room to advance beyond Lead Sales Associate. Often you will find yourself going way beyond your assigned duties and routinely accomplishing tasks that should be completed by the managers. Furthermore, raises and pay are too low for what you do. However, you will receive lots of free merchandise from reps and this offsets that a little. If the customer base are not familiar with the fitting process and expect a big box store experience you may encounter a degree of frustration.
