Pros
The one on one experience with customers is the best part of working in this store. It teaches you retail selling, but makes you develop the ability to relate to customers based solely on their current experiences. It also makes the job easier when you see it as you're helping the community achieve their activity goals. It's never about upselling, always about relation.
Cons
Management makes or breaks store experience. If you have a bad work hierarchy, then it makes its way out to the floor. Customers can feel if there is stress between employees. You work very closely with owners. If you have overbearing ownership, it can be very very hard to meet expectations. It also makes management roles very muddy because all your decisions are criticized by owners. Only take management positions if you know you can handle this type of atmosphere.
