Pros

Enjoyed working with the students and the environment was fun

Cons

Worked 80+ hours a week (one week was over 90). When I approached management and upper management about this, I was told this was the company-wide expectation during the summer months. Typical hours were maybe 8:00am-9:00pm. Weekend work was expected and required. There was also extremely minimal on-the-job training. Many tasks could have been expedited if proper training was provided. Expected to do many tasks widely out of the job description. Very slow hiring process which lead to extra responsibilities for all other staff members.

Pros

You get to choose your tour and recruit the students you want to bring. The paid chaperone ratio is 6:1, so it is very manageable. The tours are great and the local experts are wonderful.

Cons

Company support is variable. There is high turnover and new consultants are very sales motivated and don't always get the nuances of your school or community group. I have had some WONDERFUL concusltants, but they have always been promoted before I get to work with them again.
