8yThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are proud of our team and company that continues to scale the culture in a thoughtful way with all the pros that you mentioned (transparency, qualified employees, benefits, etc).
In regards to your feedback about internal promotions, we are trying to strike a balance that is hard to achieve but not impossible. I thought it may help to share insight on it here, but I’d also welcome a discussion in person. Here is how we think about growing our sales team:
1) Diversity is good: we want to bring new identities and perspectives into our sales team to help us continue to level up our strategies and tactics.
2) Promote from within when ready: We want to promote internal people when the manager knows the person can succeed. We want to set our employees up for success.
3) Healthy balance: strike a balance of internal promotions and outside hires to create a highly functioning team with the proper dynamics. We need to ensure we have the managers to properly onboard and train, and enough time for new hires to learn about our culture and how we operate within our values as a team. Balance is key to ensure all of our sales team is supported and always learning.
There is never a perfect answer and every team is different with unique circumstances. Thank you so much for your thought on this topic. We will consider this feedback as we look at our career paths and hiring goals for 2018. I welcome anyone to reach out to myself and other leaders so we can continue to be thoughtful about our growth as there will be much more ahead of us. Thanks again and Happy Selling.
