Pros
The training program for Curves is fantastic. You really learn about the science behind the program and how to best help the members achieve their fitness goals. You get to work out for free! My manager was extremely flexible with the schedule; we were allowed to request days off and also switch with other employees. You are educated in basic selling priciples, and phone skills. I really did learn a lot about the major muscle groups and how to use the machines and work one on one with members. Fun atmosphere, overall a fun job.
Cons
I made $6.15 per hour, plus commission. Made $5 for each new sign up. We were supposed to get 10% of each sign up fee too, but they were always running specials on the fee, and our commission got discounted too! Be aware that it is a "sales" focused job. You are required to call prospective members every day and keep constant appointments to show the club and entice new members. I didn't mind this, and it is a great program, so when you believe in it, it is easy to sell. Some wouldn't like the phone sales though, I'm sure. Biggest complaint: this job paid less than a fast food or clerking job, yet required extensive training and skills. It felt like a real job, yet paid like a part time high school job. Starting wages are probably higher elsewhere, but still low I'm sure.
