Pros
The product and mission of the company are great. The colorful packs, the recognizable llama, and the story behind the product are such an awesome draw. Compensation is fair.
Cons
It has been a fast growing company which brings along a lot of challenges. I’ve never been a part of a company that is so centrally controlled by the C-suite that the teams underneath don’t have the autonomy and trust to execute and utilize the skillsets they were hired to bring. Over the last two years alone there has been massive turnover at the VP and Director levels in finance, sales, operations, retail and devops because those levels of leadership are extremely frustrated and micromanaged. There is a lot of finger pointing around why targets are missed. There isn’t a cohesive mindset of one team so there is a lot of putting other departments down and blaming going on (from the C-suite on down). I never thought I’d say this but this company is TOO transparent. They involve all levels of employees in decision making where they should not be included. They solicit so much feedback that it creates a negative experience because the employees get frustrated that their wants and ideas aren’t met or aren’t met in the way they want. They need to create some healthy boundaries.
