Pros
The attorneys are, on average, far more respectful of their non-JD colleagues than I've seen in other firms. There is a genuine importance placed on kindness, celebrating company culture, and embracing life outside of work. Leadership has a bright and promising vision, though there seem to be some bureaucratic barriers preventing meaningful change.
Cons
Upward mobility for non-attorneys is bleak, as is the case for so many firms. The marketing department is top-heavy, unfortunately (and I believe unintentionally) crushing those at the bottom with unrewarding work and low chances of a promotion. It's disappointing that Cooley, with its progressive perspective, hasn't risen above this unfortunate cycle that causes legal marketing professionals to switch firms every couple of years just to get a reasonable pay increase commensurate with their tenure.
