Pros

Product quality remains Casper's greatest strength. Lots of independence as a SM if you are into just doing what you are told or being on cruise control. There are still many amazing people in stores. Benefits are better than average (not pay).

Cons

Great place to work when the core values still mattered -- current retail leadership is inexperienced in role but clearly believe they can run the business from a spreadsheet without your input. That mentality has led to retail only knowing one value: pivot, pivot, pivot. We spent all our time pivoting to end up right where we started in a cloud of our own dust. But rest assured -- it is always YOU who is not executing even though your DM (fully remote job, btw) never shows up for your 1:1 meeting and cannot successfully open a powerpoint presentation. Internal communication is an absolute disaster; as a retail employee you are guaranteed the short end of virtually every stick because most decisions are made to prioritize other sales channels. If you care enough to want the company to be better, prepare for misery.

Pros

The WTC office is nice

Cons

Most recently Casper moved to a 401k plan that is highly restrictive. It doesn’t allow selecting individual funds to build portfolio, and the funds selected have extremely high cost ratio. Looks like an extreme and desperate measure to save on admin overhead. Also, every year Casper discounts gets deeper and more frequently. The ads are boring and monotonous. Look at Casper a few years back and what it looks like now.
