Pros
The good thing about the job is getting to know great people. I made a lot of new connections while working for Clear. I got to also make great friends around the airport. When you work at the checkpoint you learn many things about the airport, travel, and how TSA works. I also like being able to step outside of my comfort zone and learn to be more open and confident.
Cons
Where do I start. If you are into customer service at an airport level there is G2 or the airlines. They pay better, have better uniforms, and treat their people better. If you are looking for jobs with sales(this job is all sales) apply for insurance, retail, dealers, or anywhere else than Clear. They make better commissions and won't steal your money. And as for security just go for TSA or MWAA. I will be frank. When I started I thought the job was ok. Not a perfect kind of dull but it was decent. I met great people but when you reach the end of the honeymoon you will see the truth. The company sucks. Starting with the actual job. When you work at Clear you must have a thick skin because the customers we get come from all walks of life. They say what they want and they kind of think the rules don't apply to them. They don't respect you and most often you will deal with spoiled, overly entitled jerks that will treat you like garbage. Yeah, I might nice people but then comes a crazy dude that won't greet you and try to snatch a boarding pass out of your hand. The job also involves standing 8 hours a day doing nothing. And worse during COVID because it's way slower. There are no opportunities to get sales and you will find yourself being overworked. The lane has no mats or chairs. It's dirty and you get limited breaks. On 30 and 15 if you are lucky. On to the actual people. Half of the people are cool and professional but the rest(the younger ones) are rude. They complain a lot and are cliquey. They also are two-faced most often and will steal your enrollments. There are a ton of people who show up hungover and get sick. Even during CoVid. Leadership: The worst. Micromanaging and abusing. As people they are cool but when they manage they don't have a clue. They are mostly about the fake numbers but not what's in front of them. The GM is absent and hides in the office. They push aggressively for sales when there is no one to pitch and will force you to risk your health during COVID to pitch to customers. They also don't respect women's s rights. They forced pregnant women to stand for hours, little breaks, and have them go back and forth running everyone's breaks. They also do favoritism for people who are lazy and drunk. Employees are treated like robots. They don't get paid much and they don't get treated with respect. They are overworked. No work/life balance. Will change your schedule without telling you. Find better work.
