Pros

Like many other smaller businesses, CGI bought our original consulting company and absorbed us. I have not found any pros from this company in the past two years. On the contrary, it's the opposite. Time to move on like the rest of my coworkers.

Cons

Before CGI bought our original company, we were a very happy group working together in Wausau. There were definitely some favorites among us but those that weren't, still enjoyed coming to the office everyday. We had a very engaged director and most of our management was very good. We felt valued and like we mattered. We had little perks from the company like egg rolls or popcorn every week. It's small but it counts. We had various committees and we would rotate out so everyone had a chance, if they chose, to bring ideas to the table. Since CGI absorbed us, we had our popcorn and egg rolls taken away without a word to us. Our committees are gone. The company dismissed our director, supposedly because he didn't fit "the model". We fear for our jobs once our contracts are up with our clients which means we can be given as little as two weeks to find another client or we are dismissed. The trust is completing gone with upper management. They don't tell us anything. If we ask questions, it's the typical, I'll find out and let you know. Letting us know without a roundabout answer is fun. We just received a new director, after almost one year without and this guy has no idea. He doesn't know us nor has he tried. He has walked past me personally a dozen times and has yet to say hello. I have been making it a point to notice this before leaving my review to be fair towards him. He is just like our other higher up who very seldom comes here and acts like a clown. I have no trust in this guy so I don't even want to say hello first. It's unfortunate that we can't expect more support from our company. All of my coworkers are leaving for a $20,000 to $50,000 increase in pay and I CBS yet to hear from the company about any concern. Most of us feel like this company didn't want us, they just wanted to cut out another competitor and take the customers.

Pros

no specific positives to highlight from my perspective

Cons

I worked at CGI in both India and the USA and observed similar workplace culture concerns across both locations. The only real difference was HR—India HR felt more supportive, while my experience with USA HR was disappointing. My employment ended shortly after maternity leave due to an alleged “lack of projects,” which I experienced as a layoff. I also observed what appeared to be misuse of position by some leaders, including blurred professional boundaries, preferential treatment, and expectations that went beyond normal workplace roles—at times resembling personal-assistant-style demands rather than professional conduct. Surprisingly, I also noticed inconsistent “policies” applied differently to different individuals. In some cases, it felt like the rules changed depending on who you were. When leadership became aware that someone was related to another employee in the organization, it sometimes felt like that person was singled out or targeted rather than treated objectively. Overall, these practices—whether through inconsistent treatment, perceived power misuse, or favoritism—undermine trust, damage workplace culture, and raise serious concerns about fairness and professionalism.
