Pros

-Incredible level of flexibility and work life balance. -A culture of compassion and understanding for family and life related events. - Wonderful co-workers with managers and leadership who put your livelihood above anything else. -Solid health care benefits, high 401(k) match, lucrative PTO and time flexing. -Meaningful work and decent career flexibility.

Cons

- Abysmal IT infrastructure tied to horrific approval processes and lead times. - Terrible salary progression for inexperienced and timid engineers. - Endless chair-warmers who spew jargon for a living. - Overly political leadership. Saving face here is often more important than owning up to problems. - Not good for young creative thinkers willing to work their hearts out. Boeing is a very old, mature business, that focuses on stability. This is great for experienced engineers who maintain a family and are satisfied with their careers. However, this culture is soul crushing for young ambitious engineers.

Pros

Work-life balance has been great at the Long Beach site. My coworkers are very considerate and supportive. Benefits suck as parental leave and 401k, Roth 401k, and mega backdoor Roth make it so you can really get ahead in terms of retirement building. They are trying to get better in culture and performance rather than some companies that don’t even pretend to care. During the pandemic there was no training. Now there’s some!

Cons

Base pay can be slightly lower than other companies for specific skills. Each site and each organization within each site has its own culture depending on who is the VP/executive team. There are so many executives it’s hard to get things done. Things move very slowly.
