Pros

Good flexibility and work-life balance, along with decent job stability due to BHP's size compared to mid-caps. Opportunities to move around internally once you have a foot in the door to work within different teams/functions/projects which can keep things fresh. Leadership also generally supportive of moving within the company as broader skillsets are valued. Brand name is strong and safety focus is always first from what i've observed.

Cons

Teams often work in silos by function, asset, and geography, making collaboration harder. Processes/approvals/systems are complex and slows things down. Change is slow because many functions need to approve decisions. Offshoring (which has been a focus for last 5+ years) of centralised processes HR/Recruitment/Purchasing etc has reduced service quality to the front line and doesn't seem to be slowing down. Despite efforts there’s still a disconnect between operational and functional priorities. Diversity targets also impact decision making and create hiring difficulties.

Pros

Some good co-workers and good challenges

Cons

Leadership in the Tucson office is highly political and unprofessional. Feedback is not given directly. Local leadership is more interested in Linkedin posting and image, rather than anything of substance.
