Pros

The people at BHP Petroleum are second to none. The leadership team is genuine and is managing the business as best they can given the lack of autonomy from the Corporate office. It was a great place to work and had a family atmosphere for most of my time there.

Cons

Mining company that is not fully committed to replacing reserves within the Petroleum division. Didn't manage the shale assets very well post acquisition. Andrew's social agenda of diversity has been "forced diversity" and a not-so-shining example of how NOT to go about it. Not appointing the best person for the job has been soul crushing and has lead to critical departures and weakened the teams at the leadership levels.

Pros

Some good co-workers and good challenges

Cons

Leadership in the Tucson office is highly political and unprofessional. Feedback is not given directly. Local leadership is more interested in Linkedin posting and image, rather than anything of substance.
