      Constant uncertainty, decreasing benefits - Management Associate (Finance) Avaya Employee Review

      Pros

      A meritocratic culture, flexible work, approachable upper management, decent medical and dental. Interesting work in a "old-time telecom equipment company" transitioning into a "new age startupy tech company". Fast paced work environment, good opportunities to learn, and be promoted.

      Cons

      Virtually no 401K. "Unlimited vacation" is a double-edged sword. Financial pressure leads to staff reductions and constant canceling of projects, "change of direction", and rumors about the company being sold or divesting business lines. Benefits and pay below industry average.

      Pros

      The company used to care about customers, but they removed all the sales people who actually visited and consulted with customers to save travel cost.

      Cons

      The company's newest CEO, Patrick, only cares about getting back to a Cybersecurity company as fast as possible. Can't sell the company fast enough, but buyers can't get past due diligence periods.
