Run, don't walk, from this company - Marketing Avaya Employee Review

Pros

Some of the best managers I have had in my 30 year career have come from Avaya. There are still a lot of talented, committed people who earnestly strive to make a difference. Reliable collaboration and contact center products built on a 120 year communications legacy from Bell, AT&T, and Lucent.

Cons

Company president sees employees as expensive slackers and channel partners as expendable. Poor benefits: no 401k matching, poor health coverage, "discretionary vacation" (as much as you want if your manager will allow you to take it), and draconian expense policies that restrict everything from how you travel and where you stay to what you can drink with your dinner. Massive debt coupled with declining revenue has the company teetering on the edge of bankruptcy or a firesale.

Pros

The company used to care about customers, but they removed all the sales people who actually visited and consulted with customers to save travel cost.

Cons

The company's newest CEO, Patrick, only cares about getting back to a Cybersecurity company as fast as possible. Can't sell the company fast enough, but buyers can't get past due diligence periods.
