Pros
With AMAT being such large company mobility is a major pro, you can move from one division to another without many problems. This helps in personal growth, but not so much in career growth.
Cons
Top Management is too focused on stock performance, so they cut everything that made the employees happy and extremely motivated to work hard and get very positive results. Years ago employee benefits paid off two ways, kept employees happy and motivated, which in turn drove the stock up. Now with the strong focus only on stock, employees are not very motivated and the stock has been stagnant for ten years.
