The AGA is 100% at the whim of the Governing Board and various committees of influential physicians, and concedes to them at the drop of a hat without thinking through anything strategically. Staff are just yes-men. Short (1 year) tenure of Governing Board presidents creates totally disjointed initiatives and no coherent, long-term organizational strategy. Very few staff care about their jobs or take pride in what they do.
