Pros

Ability to work virtually is the only redeeming factor.

Cons

Alight is the classic example of a company ruined by an investment company buyout. - think Carl Icahn or for movie buffs, Gordon Gekko. Prior to the buyout the company was highly dysfunctional and relied on years of goodwill and business connections to thrive. It is still dysfunctional but now is run by an investment company attempting to squeeze every dime out of its employees to be make money. Since the employees are the lifeblood of a service organization this strategy will only last for a while before the best and brightest jump ship. The company will likely be sold at a loss to another investment company like Berkshire Hathaway. Alight has all the symptoms of bad management. 1. Plays Favorites 2. Lack of Flexibility 3. Micromanagement 4. Verbal Abuse 5. Criticism in Public 6. No Praise 7. Lack of Vision 8. No Critical Feedback 9. Takes Resignations Personally 10. Hovers Like a Helicopter 11. Overpromises 12. Expects 24/7 Employees 13. Lack of Trust 14. Inappropriate Comments 15. Expects Everyone to Be Like Them 16. Doesn’t Admit Mistakes 17. Breaks Their Own Rules 18. Neglect 19. Poor Communication Skills 20. Bodes an Air of Arrogance
