Pros
Allows me to work part time during the usual after office hours specifically during their peak time 6-11 PM on weekdays and 10AM-7PM on Saturdays.
Cons
At present they are mass hiring with inadequate training provided via Skype for just 2.5 hours then expecting you to already master how to conduct and pass the demo class test. It is like they just provide you with a driving manual then expect you to pass the driving test shortly thereafter. Worse is when you are assigned to a subjective, biased and inconsiderate Tutor Manager (TM) slash Quality Assurance (QA) who is actually a Chinese national who will evaluate your demo class performance - which I had the misfortune of experiencing. The QA only stated the highly disputable cons as to why I failed my demo class test with no mention whatsoever of the pros or what I did right - despite my extensive preparations and presentation on top of my above average proficiency in English compared to some of my fellow trainees who passed the test. I believe the QA just didn't like me from the very start because I also happen to be a 55 year old professional in the F&B industry with a personality which is far from being timid. Apparently the QA finds me too intimidating to manage and include in his team so he just rejected me right away without any consideration whatsoever. Among others, he cited my having bad Internet connection as a reason for failing me - highly objectionable considering that I have 30 Mbps Internet at home. I believe that even if I had conducted a perfect demo class, he will still find a reason to fail me. Highly frustrating and infuriating even that he just disregarded my strengths for the job including a passion to teach children - having experience in homeschooling my own son for 2 straight years. Good thing I was able to secure assistance elsewhere to get me into the company.
