Pros

You get discounts. Not your Military discount though.

Cons

Store Manager refuses to allow team members that are veterans to utilize the Military discount. Store Manager has specific customers that own their own gun Store come into Auburn Academy and allows for stacking of any and all discounts available. Store manager shops at said customers store instead of his own company. Store Manager doesn't even greet team members. Always leads with negativity, which then upsets the team members as it's mostly college age team members. Management set unrealistic goals that had been accomplished for multiple leaders before me, and they came with a promise of wage increase once reached. With huge laughter when I said it would be done. Well once goal reached in roughly half the time that was given as a verbal estimate, Store Manager and another salaried manager became so jealous that a team was built that they could not accomplish for multiple reporting periods and multiple Opperations Leads before me. So once they had their team built. They targeted my time in which to develope any more team members, scheduled me to cover other team leads shifts while that team lead was in the building just conversing throughout the store. District Manager spoke to me one time through 10+ visits. I approached and greeted him every visit. I was acknowledge with a head not 2 times. The one time spoken to, it was to have my team do the opposite of customer service, JUST A GROSS CULTURE.

Pros

The easiest thing about job is the work itself.

Cons

The upper management is horrible on every level. They don’t care enough to even give job interviews, so you don’t know what to expect on your first day. Expect someone to not train you, but aggressively micromanage you and let you know what you do is wrong but not show how to do anything correctly. I’ve never seen a retail place operate so “by the books” but will make up rules on the spot when it’s most convenient for them. There is a severe lack of communication and care all around, partly from a lot of the managers being on different parts of the spectrum. The senior employees will also take out their home life problems out on you bc they’re jealous you got more credit card applications than them. Don’t work here unless you enjoy high school petty drama from ladies that have worked 30+ years in retail.
